Another Cheesy One…Take 2

I had some sort of technical difficulties with my post from yesterday.  I’m going to repost it as best as I can remember....hopefully it will be even better said the second time.
My apologies for another emotional post...
When looking back at the post about the fair, I’m reminded of something that makes me smile.  I can’t believe how naturally I’ve become the dorky mom grinning, yelling, and frantically waving to my child on a ride, oblivious to everyone else around me.  I mean, is there really anyone else?  I’m even more amazed and in love with how this has happened for Jason.  The day I gave him my phone number in college, I told my roommate, Lauren, “He won’t call.  He’s Jason Day.”  He was this ultra cool, seemingly untouchable single guy.  We got back to our dorm the next night to a message from him on the answering machine that I didn’t erase until we moved out.  The rest is history.  When we were engaged and he had already easily become a loyal and loving partner, I wondered how he would be with our kids.  Would it be easy for him to lose the cool single guy mentality?  Make a fool out of himself in public for their benefit?   Be the dorky dad to complement this sure-to-be dorky mom?  (I mean the majority of single guys would rather be caught dead than on a train in the mall or dancing around in a tutu.)
Yes.  The answer is yes.  He has transitioned so easily into a fun and loving daddy and husband.  The pictures from the fair are a good testament to that, but here’s some more proof.
Playing on the slip and slide in our front yard…

(had to sneak in the sleeping baby!)
Dancing in the aforementioned tutu in our living room (this is why we love public television…a Ray LaMontagne concert on a random Friday night and Lawrence Welk on Saturday nights)…

Riding that train in Southpark Mall…

I’m so happy to have him to share the adventure of raising these two little souls with!  I like being on this team.  (Thanks again for the adorable shirts, Andrea. J)
